Oxford Conference on G.B. Smith and J.R.R. Tolkien: A Meaningful Friendship

Professor Beppe Pezzini of Corpus Christi, Oxford, who is an associate scholar of ITIA, is co-organising a conference this March (21 MAR 2023 – 22 MAR 2023) on the friendship between G.B. Smith and J.R.R. Tolkien.

This conference celebrates the 50th year anniversary of Tolkien’s death (1892-1973) and Tolkien’s meaningful friendship with G.B. Smith, poet and alumnus of Corpus, who died at the Battle of the Somme in 1916.
