Patrick McGlinchey

PHD CANDIDATE

Hometown: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Education: BA, Philosophy, Queen’s University Belfast
MA, Theology and Religion, Durham University

Thesis Research
Patrick’s doctoral research, supervised by Professor Judith Wolfe, concerns the place of theological aesthetics within theological anthropology. He is particularly interested in the under-examined role of the imagination in framing the human relation to Christ, the Trinity, and the eschaton. His hope is to pursue a sustained dialogue with the work of Rowan Williams and various modern articulations of the self in philosophy and the arts.

Other Information
Patrick had the opportunity to create and deliver a module on the intersection of theology and film through QUB Open Learning. He also maintains an active interest in the relation between theology and philosophy. In his spare time, Patrick enjoys rock-climbing, travelling, and coffee.
