Anthony is interested in the formation and evolution of sacred music and liturgical practices birthed in the American South. His curiosity extends to how the music, and theology, of black and white Americans influenced their liturgical practices and further splits. In examining the historical Southern church through the church today, the hope is that he will find areas for conversation, reconciliation, and redemption in effort to see, a way in which, the Kingdom of God can be realised.
Anthony is also interested in exploring how the revelation of the Divine is expressed in popular music. In consideration of H. Richard Niebuhr’s Christ Transforming Culture, how is an Incarnational examination of the “presence of God” exemplified within the broad pop oeuvre?
His family, wife and son, and the overwhelming joy they are in all their being. Anthony is an avid student of music, particularly of anything related to the guitar and voice. Cooking and growing his skills at bartending.
