Alicia Pollard’s literary interests span genres, mediums, and time periods, but she has a special love for the work of the Inklings and 20th century American and British writers. She plans to study:
- “Yearning” (transcendent longing) in fiction and poetry
- How believing in sacraments vs. ordinances shapes an artist’s vision
- Divine encounters in the works of Madeleine L’Engle, George MacDonald, C.S. Lewis, and J.R.R. Tolkien
- Veil imagery as used to describe the boundary between the physical and spiritual worlds
Alicia is an avid reader of fantasy, historical fiction, mysteries, science fiction, and any story with hearth fire-warmth or wilderness-adventure. She writes poetry, prose, and creative nonfiction on her blog, aliciapollard.com, and enjoys working with other artists on creative collaborations such as her Summer of Faerie project in the summer of 2020. While not reading or writing, she enjoys hiking, running, paddle-boarding, and taking pictures in the green woods and blue lakes of New England.
