Academic Interests: Michael’s primary research passion is investigating why the arts – and literature in particular – possess such immense capacity for theological truth-telling and meaning-making. After completing the MLitt. with ITIA, he intends to continue on toward his PhD.
Further research interests include Historical Theology, Literary Theology, Hermeneutical Theory, Romantic Literature and Thought, Mythopoesis and Sub-creation, Christian Ethics, Liturgical Practice, and Linguistics.
Other information: Prior to moving to St Andrews, Michael and his wife, Tina, worked in vocational ministry for much of the past ten years. Michael is also a Persian linguist with a general love for languages, their sounds and their rhythms. Michael, Tina, and their three-year-old daughter, Willow, live in St Andrews where they enjoy (lots of) walking, playing, talking, telling stories, reading, spending time with friends and building community.
