Thesis topic/academic interests
The use of the visual arts and space in worship.
Carol is particularly interested in the way that art can enhance and transcend our dominant language of words and what the spaces we create have to say about us and who we are.
Carol is on sabbatical from the Soul Marks Trust (of which she is the creative director and artist) which was set up in 2003 to ‘encourage and enable creativity using all the senses, particularly through the visual arts, to express and inspire faith in God.’ She also plays a flute and whistles in ‘Flaming Nora,’ an Edinburgh-based céilidh band. Carol likes to read and go to the cinema.
