Education: BA Biblical Texts and Preaching (minor in English), Lubbock Christian University
Coming from a background in ministry preparation, Austin is interested in non-biblical narrative as intrinsically valuable to the Christian life, and believes it carries as much potential for virtue formation as typical Christian ministry.
Specific research interests include exploring theodicy within literature and film, perspective criticism, virtue ethics, the mystical representation of God in early African American literature, apophatic theology, and the anti-industrialist language of J.R.R. Tolkien and other fantasy writers.
